Rathi Casey is CEO of UKUU Creative – a design studio specializing in design-thinking around the following fields of expertise: architectural design, interior design, graphic design, branding, messaging, product design and research development. Rathi was named one of the business community’s “40 Under Forty” in 2019 by Albuquerque Business First.
She was born in India, raised in Hong Kong, and later immigrated to the United States for college and to pursue her career. She received her BArch in Architecture at Rice University and studied abroad in Paris during her time there. For several years Rathi traveled to pursue her interests in architecture, working at the Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris and New York. Later moving back to Hong Kong for work in Interior Design fabrications, and then San Francisco for Urban Design Strategies. Rathi serves on the board of the Urban Land Institute as the Young Leader Chair and on the governing council of Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School, a Charter School in Albuquerque centered around the IB curriculum. She is also involved with the Young Professionals of Albuquerque and is Lead Examiner for Quality NM.
Rathi lives in Albuquerque with her husband, daughter Adhya Shanthi Casey, and three pug dogs, participating in fundraising and grant giving for The Albuquerque Community Foundation and The American Heart Association. In New Mexico she also enjoys watching hot air balloons, taking walks along the Bosque, hiking on the Sandias and wine-tasting at the local wineries.
