I practice law at the Minneapolis-based firm of Fredrikson & Byron, P.A., advising on the development, protection and commercialization of brilliant and not-so-brilliant ideas.  I also teach intellectual property as an adjunct professor at Hamline University and volunteer with the Children’s Law Center representing children who have become wards of the state. I co-founded and help manage OMEED, a small non-profit organization that provides humanitarian relief, healthcare and education in Southeast Asia where – in younger years – I spent time as a Fulbright scholar. OMEED’s projects include operating a free healthcare clinic, rebuilding schools, and supporting orphans and children with disabilities.  My favorite things in life are lunch, iced Americanos, hand-wringing about politics and world affairs, lipstick, the art of story-telling, music (currently desperately trying to learn to play the tabla), swimming, engaging conversations, travel, and spending time with friends, my husband, our 14-year old twins and our unruly dog.
