Ryann Lauckner was born in a small town in North Dakota (they’re all small towns in North Dakota). An Army brat, she grew up all over, with notable stints in Mainz, Germany and El Paso, Texas.Determined to become her family’s first college graduate, Ryann moved to Los Angeles, where she attended USC and majored in Cinema-Television. Thanks to a dreamy professor, she also picked up a bachelors in Italian (but, sadly, no Italian bachelor). Two months after graduation, Ryann landed a gig as a post assistant on CBS’ Big Brother, where she was primarily employed to make sure the house guests had plenty of booze and the network execs had the correct coffee orders.
Like most tv careers, Ryann’s has been a blur of tight deadlines, tough talent, and three-star hotels. Somewhere along the journey, she landed on the executive track at Asylum Entertainment. She started as VP of Programming, and now she’s the President and Chief Strategy Officer for Asylum Entertainment Group, a content company focused on incubating creative companies and partnerships across the content spectrum. The company has launched three tentpole companies – The Content Group, Clovis Entertainment, and Audity – each of which employ unique financial, creative, and community incentives to reward their production partners.
