Jeff serves as U.S. State and Local Public Policy Lead for VMware, an internet and software company, where he oversees tech policy with mayors, state legislatures and governors across 50 states and Canada. Jeff previously served as Deputy Cabinet Secretary for the Governor of California Edmund G. Brown Jr. He oversaw the Governor’s cabinet on issues ranging from food and agriculture, pesticide regulation, military and veterans’ affairs, tribal relations, government operations, drought and extreme weather, emergency services, cybersecurity, and federal issues that impact the state. Mr. Le served previously as Governor Brown’s Deputy Director for External and International Affairs where he interfaced with domestic stakeholders and convened foreign dignitaries on behalf of the state. Before his state service, he was Senior Manager for Development and Communications at Global Rights, an international human rights organization. From 2010-2011, he worked with communities across seventeen Afghan provinces as a manager at International Relief and Development. He has experience working at the State Department, US House of Representatives, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, United Nations, Carter Center, National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, and has been an international election observer in ten countries. Mr. Le received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of California, San Diego and his M.A. in Political Science as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar at Central European University in Budapest. He is a US-Japan Leadership Program Fellow, Truman National Security Project Political Partner, Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations and a Millennium Fellow at the Atlantic Council. Mr. Le has completed four 100-mile running races, qualified for the Boston Marathon, has been to every Major League Baseball ballpark, and all 50 states.
